ABOUT US

Advocates For Animal Rights (AFAR) is a 501c3 Companion Animal Rescue. AFAR has two locations: our first location is In the Beautiful State of Michigan, and our second location is in the Impressive State of Tennessee!

Our primary goal is to raise NO-KILL Companion Animal Sanctuary's at both sites, offering a safe haven to all homeless animals. They will have permanent, safe and loving place to live until a forever home for them is found. However, if a forever home is not readily available, the sanctuary will remain their home away from home until a forever home is found.

(Red) Jack

What can we say about (Red) Jack? He was rescued from the streets of Detroit by another rescue. Jack was in bad shape when they took him in. This foster home had 12 other dogs living within their home. An AFAR member was contacted to help Jack be placed. After he was brought to an AFAR member he was diagnosed with heart-worm. One year into his treatment and he’s doing wonderfully. He loves to go riding in the car, and his awesome personality comes shining through. He now enjoys his forever home, a faithful true-blue companion to his caregiver who loves him dearly.
