ABOUT US

Advocates For Animal Rights (AFAR) is a 501c3 Companion Animal Rescue. AFAR has two locations: our first location is In the Beautiful State of Michigan, and our second location is in the Impressive State of Tennessee!

Our primary goal is to raise NO-KILL Companion Animal Sanctuary's at both sites, offering a safe haven to all homeless animals. They will have permanent, safe and loving place to live until a forever home for them is found. However, if a forever home is not readily available, the sanctuary will remain their home away from home until a forever home is found.

Jake

Please say hello to Jake. At the age of 3 months, Jake suffered from an extreme case of the Parvo-virus. HisĀ  family at that time justĀ  had a baby an was unable to deal with a sick puppy as well. Jake came to AFAR member where he went through extensive treatment to save his life. It was touch and go for quite a while. Now Jake, now celebrating his one year birthday (on October 31st-Halloween of 2010), has a blast in his new forever home-playing with his adoptive family, and his brothers and sisters. His special treat and favorite thing to do is to go to McDonald’s where he gets to have a hamburger.
